We’re all for people carving their own paths and we know that some of you will have your own preferred bike builds, it’s such a personal thing. We will swap out individual components in whichever build you choose but you can also order “frame-only” (includes Fox Float X2 or DHX22 rear shock).
Our mullet-build Enduro A.170 is designed to excel on steep terrain and is super-nimble, super-fun going downhill … and pedals back up like our A.150 Enduro bike! … You can boost jumps, and really push it hard in the park but when you’re up for an adventure the new geometry and the DW6 platform work together to make those big mountain-style missions altogether more rewarding.

Frequently Asked Questions
The A170 is mixed/mullet wheels only. We believe that this bike performs best as a mullet so that’s what we offer. There is no provision for a 29 rear wheel. Have a look at the A150 if that’s your thing!
Sure you can! There may be some changes to standard geometry caused by the longer fork, drop us a line on sales@athertonbikes.com to discuss.
With its steep seat angle and a supportive DW6 platform for wildly efficient pedaling the A170 climbs far better than you might expect! Perfectly ready for big days in the mountains.
For most A170 riders we recommend a coil shock for the best performance, but air shocks work really well too, as with all of our A series builds we respect that you’ll have your own styles and preferences and will do all we can to advise according to your typical terrain and riding style.
With its straight seat tube it’s possible to run very long dropper posts on the A170. Even on the smallest frames long posts can be inserted fully.Of course the most suitable size for you might be smaller or larger depending on your measurements. We can spec anything from 125 to 240mm!
Again it’s down to your personal preferences, where you usually ride and the part of your ride that you prioritise. The differences are quite small – a 170mm fork gives a slightly better position for climbing, 180mm gives the best possible performance for the way back down! A 180 fork will also slightly reduce bike’s reach (around 5mm).
Build 1 features the very best components on the market.
